چکیده

A 16-year-old boy was referred to our cardiology clinic for investigation of his heart murmur. He had mild exertional dyspnea. On physical examination, the patient appeared well and nondysmorphic. General physical examination showed no abnormalities except a grade 2/6 pansystolic murmur near the right sternal border. Laboratory findings were within normal limits and chest radiography showed mild cardiac enlargement. The ECG showed normal sinus rhythm. Transthoracic echocardiography in the apical four-chamber view revealed an anomalous muscular bundle dividing the right ventricle (RV) into two different compartments and an aneurysm of the membranous

Spontaneously Healed Membranous Type Ventricular Septal Defect with Malaligned Interventricular Septal Wall and Double-Chambered Right Ventricle in a 56-Year-Old Patient

A 56-year-old male presented with resting dyspnea and chest discomfort for several years. During transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, a spontaneously healed membranous type ventricular septal defect (VSD) with malaligned interventricular septal wall, aneurysmal changes, a subaortic ridge and a double-chambered right ventricle (DCRV) was observed. When combined with DCRV, VSD with...

Disadvantageous closure of the interventricular communication in double outlet right ventricle.

A double outlet right ventricle was diagnosed in a 10 week old infant, in whom the ventricular septum was intact at the time of presentation. A large aneurysm of a membranous septal remnant was present, and this appears to be the first recorded instance of closure of a malalignment ventricular septal defect by such a mechanism.

A Rare Case of Double-Chambered Right Ventricle Associated with Ventricular Septal Defect and Congenital Absence of the Pulmonary Valve

Double-chambered right ventricle (DCRV) is a rare congenital heart disorder involving 2 different right ventricle (RV) pressure compartments that is often associated with ventricular septal defect (VSD). Usually, the obstruction is caused by an anomalous muscle bundle crossing the RV from the interventricular septum to the RV free wall. We are reporting a case of double-chambered right ventricl...

Interventricular membranous septal aneurysm: CT and MR manifestations

Advanced cardiac imaging is a valuable method to investigate cardiac malformations. The detection of the interventricular membranous septum has clinical significance due to thrombogenic and arrythmogenic predisposition, as well as a role in obstructing the pulmonary flow. This review describes six clinical presentations in which advanced cardiac imaging has been the tool for evaluation, with sp...

Double-chambered right ventricle.

A19-year-old woman with mild exercise intolerance was referred for follow-up examination of a known ventricular septal defect (VSD; Figure 1A). By continuous-wave Doppler, a gradient across the tricuspid valve of 60 mm Hg was recorded. The parasternal short-axis view revealed an anomalous muscle bundle with insertion at the interventricular septum and the right ventricular (RV) free wall (Figur...
